Our joint project

“ClimatePartner Agriculture” is a joint project of BASF SE and Raiffeisen Waren-Zentrale Rhein-Main AG (RWZ). The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions in agriculture by up to 30% per ton of crop produced. For the first time, scientific data is being collected on the basis of practical trials on how CO2 emissions can be reduced throughout the entire production process of a farm. The developed application and product recommendations will help other farms to reduce their CO2 emissions in the future.

“In the “ClimatePartner Agriculture” project, strong partners have joined forces to support agriculture on the path to climate-optimized production.”

BASF Agricultural Solutions

Providing healthy and affordable food for a rapidly growing population worldwide is critical to sustainable agriculture. At the same time, farmers are challenged to further reduce their impact on the environment. Together with partners and agricultural experts, we support them on this path. That’s why we invest in a strong research and development pipeline that combines innovative thinking with down-to-earth action in the field. In doing so, we incorporate sustainability criteria into all our business decisions. Our portfolio includes seeds and specially bred traits, chemical and biological crop protection, soil management solutions, plant health, pest control and digital agriculture. With expert teams in the lab, in the field, in the office and in production, we strive to find the right balance for success – for growers, agriculture and future generations. In 2022 our business sector achieved sales of €10.3 billion.
